VSL Piano Celebration

VSL Bosendorfer280VC GUI

The Vienna Symphonic Library announces a new lossless data compression format that massively reduces the data size of the installed sample content. The first libraries to benefit from this innovation are Vienna’s nine Synchron Pianos, which now require only 26% to 35% of space of the original installed data size, depending on the instrument. With this new data format, the compressed download size equals the installed data size on the user’s drive. To celebrate the new space-efficiency, the Austrian company offers all Synchron Pianos at discounts of up to 36%. Free demo versions of all pianos make it easy for users to try and compare them.

All nine currently available Synchron Pianos were recorded at the company’s own scoring stage, Synchron Stage Vienna. Instruments recorded on the large Stage A include the concert grands Fazioli F308, Bösendorfer Imperial, Steinway & Sons D-274, and Yamaha CFX. Instruments that were captured on the smaller, dryer Stage B include the grands Fazioli F212, Bösendorfer 280VC and the vintage Blüthner 1895, as well as upright pianos by Bösendorfer and Bechstein. All pianos were recorded with an advanced setup of multiple microphones whose signals are separately available in the mixer of the Synchron Piano player. Users may select from a host of presets or use them as starting points for their own customized piano sounds creations.
