Tascam Model 2400
Tascam announces the launch of a new flagship to its MODEL Recording Console Series – MODEL 2400. Like the other products in the series, the Model 2400 combines an analogue mixing console with a multitrack recorder and an audio interface with DAW control. However, thanks to its considerably more extensive feature set, the Model 2400 is aimed as much at professional recording studios and larger-scale live sound reinforcement as it is at the home recording and band-rehearsal applications of the previous models.
The Model 2400 has twelve mono and five stereo inputs (including one via Bluetooth), four stereo subgroups, five Aux sends and an effects processor with 16 adjustable presets. MIDI input and output with MIDI timecode, song position pointer and a click output are ideal for artists and producers with electronic instruments and sound generators.
Each of the twelve mono channels has a simple 1-knob compressor, a 3-band EQ with sweepable mids and an insert. Phantom power can be switched in groups of four. A compressor (with five rotary controls on the top) and a parametric 4-band EQ can be applied to the main stereo signal. And a meter bridge with large level indicators can be displayed on a computer via USB if required. A meter bridge can be shown on a computer via the mixer’s settings panel.
The built-in 24-track audio recorder uses SDXC cards up to 512 gigabytes and offers overdubs on up to eight tracks simultaneously. It also allows tracks to be swapped, making ping-pong recordings possible. Integration with a DAW is provided by a 24-channel USB audio interface, which is designed to be compatible with practically all common DAW applications and also enables the audio transport and record-ready status of individual tracks to be controlled via the HUI protocol.
