It is no secret that HK Audio has redefined live performances with the Concert Sound portfolio. This portfolio, comprising the CONTOUR X, COSMO and C-SUB families, provides users with highest flexibility and the ability to scale everything from point source and ground stacked solutions, all the way up to a full line array setup. The latest addition to the Concert Sound line up, CONTOUR X 210 LT, is the ultimate statement of this philosophy, bridging the gap between the point source CONTOUR X and COSMO line array. With the new Concert Sound 2.0 filter sets the whole product family now delivers ultimate flexibility and perfected system coherence.

CX 210 LT is a long-throw point-source loudspeaker that fulfils the highest demands of sound quality and sound pressure. The large horn with MCT (Multicell Transformer), which can be rotated for array operation, offers precise dispersion alongside even and defined coverage and helps to reduce listening fatigue. It can be flown as a single unit or with up to four cabinets in a horizontal array at any angle. Filter presets for Lab.Gruppen and Powersoft offer acoustically ideal tuning of the speakers for clusters of one to four or in combination with CONTOUR or COSMO systems, ensuring that the Concert 2.0 philosophy is realized.

This has been backed up by the findings of a thorough product review by Anselm Goertz for Production Partner. After exploring every aspect of the CX 210 LT, Goertz stated: ‘With the new CX 210 LT top from the CONTOUR series and the CS 218 sub, HK Audio has created a flexible system. Through the special filtering, the outer cabinets in the array also achieve a consistent frequency range. In addition, there is a solid flying system that is completely integrated into the boxes, ensuring an array can be assembled and positioned in a very short time. All in all, a very flexible system that is ideal for many tasks and offers the highest quality in all of them areas for a very reasonable price.’

‘CX 210 LT is the perfect example of how our Concert Sound 2.0 brings flexibility and scalability to our clients,’ said Christian Jordan, CSO and CMO at HK Audio. ‘Not only does it sound great, it fits perfectly within the whole portfolio, meaning that it can blend into any solution a rental company wants to deploy. With Concert Sound 2.0 we are creating systems that will spend less time in your warehouse and more time on gigs.’

A further advantage for the CONTOUR X, COSMO and C-SUB families is the Concert Sound 2.0 filter sets. The new filter sets deliver a revised sound signature, optimized user-friendliness and perfected system coherence. This helps engineers to create an impressive, extended sound signature, so HK Audio systems now sound fuller, bigger and more confident, offering even the most demanding listeners an unrivalled sound experience. Low-mid beam steering using all-pass filters ensures that all frequencies are distributed evenly throughout the entire audience area. This minimizes areas with suboptimal sound and maximizes the sound experience for the entire audience.

The new filters have been thoroughly tested under live conditions and are now available for Lake and Armonía processors. Existing systems can be easily updated to Concert Sound 2.0 to take advantage of the new features. Updated Ease files are also available to further facilitate planning and implementation. Concert Sound 2.0 offers a new level of sound quality, efficiency and flexibility that has been met with enthusiasm from technicians, artists and audiences alike.

And the new Concert Sound 2.0 sound and user experience is making its mark everywhere it goes. From the CONTOUR X 210 LT getting its first taste of action at Synapse Open Air in Leipzig, Germany, and COSMO getting the crowd dancing at Rock in the Jungle 2024, Sarawak Cultural Village, Malaysia, to CONTOUR systems touring as drum monitors for Iron Maiden and Deep Purple or COSMO supporting the DJs at Electronic BBQ Festival in Castellarano, Italy, the Concert Sound 2.0 revolution has been delighting performers and engineers all over the world.

‘Concert Sound 2.0 means that we now have a harmonious, complete package,’ said Andreas Mayerl, CPO at HK Audio. ‘The optimized FIR filters with a uniform phase response guarantee a perfect combination of all components in the Concert Sound portfolio and a quicker set up. It is one family with one sound philosophy and a secure investment for the future.’
