Ferncast aixtream 3.10
Ferncast, the innovative audio logistics company specializing in 24/7 radio software solutions, announces the release of aixtream version 3.10. This latest update introduces substantial advancements in redundancy, standards compliance, and format support, along with new features designed to enhance the aixtream platform’s performance and reliability.
The major improvements in version 3.10 include:
- SMPTE ST 2022-7 for redundant audio reception and delivery over IP. The now fully compliant implementation ensures maximal packet security and thus audio quality.
- The above also includes dual RTP redundancy. Redundant streams can be delivered by identical or different sources (like different networks). This makes the redundancy even more robust as it protects against physical network issues.
- CMAF (Common Media Application Framework) support enhances live radio streaming services further. This format allows unified streaming of HLS- and DASH-formatted media content, which in turn makes it easier for broadcasters to reach all possible end devices, while requiring less configuration.
In addition to these major updates, version 3.10 includes numerous improvements, specific feature additions, and general bug fixes. These include, but are not limited to:
- Enhanced configuration options for ngLC (Loudness Control)
- Smoother live switching of RTP inputs
- More flexible and robust PTP clock synchronization.
- General improvements to HLS and DASH support.
- Greater flexibility in ad-insertion.
aixtream version 3.10 was officially released and is now available to all current customers.
